Hi everyone, my name is Sydney Martinez, and I am a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Epidemiology of Chronic Diseases. I am pursuing my master’s degree in Health Promotion and Behavioral Science with a strong passion for public health and preventive medicine. I first became involved with SHAC as an undergraduate through the Smoke-Free Committee, and since then I have continued my work in tobacco prevention with Tobacco Free Florida, where I helped make Orlando public parks smoke-free. Beyond SHAC, I serve as an advisor to the American Red Cross-National Youth Council, the Assistant Director of the Testicular Cancer Research Collaborative, and I lead the KNIGHTS Clinic at UCF in partnership with the College of Medicine. I am excited to continue advancing student health and wellness through SHAC.
