I tear up every time I hear of the CRC stepping forward to help more and more students and families. The thing is, giving back is the heart of recovery. These students that the CRC is investing their time into have that giving spirit, their focus on their recovery, and personal betterment. These are the true “stars” of any university that gives them a chance.

Upon performing my thesis one-act play at The Clinton Global Initiative, UCF interviewed me on the thesis, Fledgling CRC, and my process and journey through recovery. All this effort, traveling, writing, and speaking garnered the right attention I suppose, for now, its grown into the Collegiate Recovery Community you all see today —  a flourishing and wonderful place for students to better themselves. I published my work in May of 2014 and thusly handed off the baton for other students to continue the work. I ventured forth to pursue a full-time performance career after careful reflection. I knew I wasn’t done with the stage for I’ve seen its power to touch people’s hearts and if I was to make a larger impact, I had to find larger stages. This call to action has far exceeded every expectation I had for the project and more; now in the wonderful and capable hands of my fellow Knights.
