Alyssa Ramirez

Hi, everyone! My name is Alyssa Ramirez and I’m a senior majoring in Biomedical Sciences and
minoring in Medical Anthropology. I joined SHAC in Fall 2021 and I’m excited to continue my
involvement this year in order to continue educating the UCF community about various public
health concerns while promoting accessible resources to address these concerns. This directly
relates to my career goal as an aspiring physician, where I hope to cultivate a person-centered
approach to health and wellness that empowers patients to take charge of their health in ways
that are meaningful to them.

Besides being on SHAC, I am the 2023-24 Outreach Chair for UCF’s Public Health Student
Association (PHSA). I am also a Peer Mentor within the College of Medicine’s Undergraduate
Advising office and a teaching assistant for Quantitative Biological Methods (QBM). During my
free time, I love to spend time with my family and play piano! Looking forward to another great
year on SHAC. Go Knights and Charge On 🙂
