Dr. Alicia James joined UCF Student Health Services in 2023. A native Californian, Dr. James attended Stanford University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Feminist Studies with a minor in Human Biology in 2007. She completed her Doctorate of Medicine at Michigan State University in 2015. She went on to complete her residency in Family Medicine at Prisma Health in the heart of South Carolina. Before this, she practiced in a primary care office focusing on chronic disease management in the Orlando area.  Dr. James enjoys spending time with family and DIY projects outside of work.

Dr. Braun graduated from the University of Iowa School of Medicine and completed his family residency training at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. He has been working in the Orlando area and has extensive expertise in many areas, including family medicine, occupational health, urgent care, and student health.  He was the Medical Director for the University of Iowa Student Health Services for 2 years before joining the team at UCF.

Dr. Nguyen-Siddiqi received her BA with honors in Biology from Rollins College. She received her MD degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed her residency at Tallahassee Memorial Family Medicine. She spent a number of years working for private medical groups and hospital systems in Georgia and Florida, and she established her own family practice in Plant City, Florida. Dr. Nguyen-Siddiqi has also worked in the Orlando VA Medical Center and continues to especially enjoy treating our nation’s veterans at UCF. She also provides travel medicine consults within the International Health Unit at Student Health Services.

Dr. Schaus serves as UCF Student Health Services Medical Director and spent 17 years with Physician Associates in Maitland before joining UCF Student Health Services in 2001. A graduate of the George Washington University School of Medicine, he completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Florida. Dr. Schaus is specifically interested in the research of high-risk drinking prevention and preventive college health. Dr. Schaus also serves as an Associate Professor of Family Medicine at UCF College of Medicine.

Dr. Deichen is the Associate Vice President of UCF Student Health Services and serves as the Chief Public Health Officer for the university as a whole. Dr. Deichen has been with UCF Student Health Services since 2001. His educational career began at the University of Florida earning his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry followed by a Medical Degree at the University of South Florida and then his residency in Family Medicine completed at the University of Florida. He also holds a Master of Public Health Degree from the University of South Florida. Dr. Deichen’s areas of interest include emerging public health threats and emergency response
